Siebe Pogson

Bassist l Composer l Sydney

Siebe was born in 1992 and is currently based in working as a piano teacher, accompanist, composer/arranger and a bass player. As a multi-instrumentalist, Siebe has been taught by many respected Sydney musicians/composers including Kevin Hunt, Saul Richardson, Gerard Willems and Steve Hunter. He has also studied under bass innovator Victor Wooten and bass pedagogist/educator Anthony Wellington. In 2022 he achieved his master’s at Liceu Conservatory Barcelona in jazz performance studying under saxophonist William McHenry. Siebe began his composing career in 2013 when he started his jazz-funk band Funk Engine who would go on to record three albums of original music. He has also composed and recorded with the jazz-baroque viola da gamba ensemble Elysian Fields.
